THE STORY:

Each painter has his own style. But what is unique about Henri Matisse and how can this be recognized immediately? Was this famous French artist especially fond of certain colours?

What about these figures we see over and over again in his silhouettes? What does „Fauves“ mean and which role does it play in his work?

In "Who is Matisse again?" children learn in an entertaining way what is special about Matisse and what distinguishes him from other well-known artists. A creativ workshop inspires the children to try out their own artistic creativity.

THE AUTHOR:

Britta Benke (*1960) studied Art History, classical Archeology and Romanistic in Göttingen, Münster and Bonn. After her studies she worked several years in publishing before editing, in 1994, her first art book about the American artist "Georgia O'Keeffe". Since 1997, she has been working for schools and museums as a museum educationalist, planning and running workshops for children. She has created a totally new concept to lead children effortless to meet great art.
